August 16 Event

Is there any sort of attendance cap?

Current count is 35. We try to cap at 60. Have sold out at every event this year.

I have been told by Devens we will have to use the front entrance for this event. It is located about 1 mile from Bishop Road directly off Route 2A.

what are we going to with the paddock and grid? the cables for the timing lights arent that long. it might be a little cramped

Jane says that they want to try the old way of getting in since there have been so many problems with the rear gate being open. This is a trial for the weekends of August 15,16 and August 22,23. They will decide after if it will become permanent.

Will we need to drive over the course to enter or leave when the event is under way? Or does the ring road go all around?

Bring everything you may need for the day. Not really sure how this is going to work out. We may paddock differently and run differently. Depends on where the porta-potties are. Trying to have them moved to the far end of the main runway so we wouldn't have to go over the course.

Count now at 49. Heard back from Devens and the rear access road that runs by the fence will have to be used to get to the usual paddock area.

I'm not sure where the old entrance is. Do you still enter at Bishop Road and go further down that road past where you would usually turn right to get to the gate we've been using?

I am now confused about where we are supposed to go into Devens this Sunday. Since we still will be dragging along the big 2 car trailer, I'd like to give Lee the correct instructions the first time!

We will have to enter from the main gate off Route 2A and follow around to the back of the buildings then use the access road to get to the paddock area

We currently have our 60+ drivers preregistered. If you have not preregistered you will be taking a chance on people who don't show up. We use a sign-up sheet at the gate for any open spots.

Looking at the map, it looks like the way to get to the main entrance is to go through the center of Ayer (Main Street), taking a right on to 111/2A and going past the usual entrance on Bishop Street. When the road split in to a fork, stay to the left on Fitchburg Road/2A. It looks like the main entrance must by on the left off of Fitchburg Road, near the buildings that are at the end of the airstrip.
