Web page look
It appears that the renegademiata.net front page as well as some other pages, like autocross tab, come out garbled. Depending on the screen resolution the words seem to get on top of one another and such. I tried it on a couple of laptops and it is consistent.
Not sure who our new web page admonistrator is, but thought he/she should know that. If I can help with fixing this somehow, please let me know.

Re: Web page look
Mike,
Maybe you should check your settings. I use a laptop with a rather small screen and the pages ook OK to me!

Re: Web page look
Mell, both me and Vicky had the same garbled look on our laptops.
I'm running 1280x800 resolution. She's probably running about the same. Could you check it on your laptop at that res?

Mike,
I am also running 1280 x 800 resolution. Is your font size set on normal?

Mell, mine font size is set to Large (120 dpi) as I'm getting to be blind as a bat.

Mike,
Try setting it to Normal and see if that makes any difference (and go to CVS and get some $20 glasses!)

Re: Web page look
Mell, changing the font size did not make a difference (I actually did not expect it to, as it only changes the menu fonts and such, not the font size of the text on the web page). Changing the web page font size didn't make a difference either.
The problem exists on both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. I think it's simply a problem with the chosen font not scaling properly.
PS. Me? Glasses? Noooooo! :-)

Re: Web page look
Hi Mike - The pages display fine for me, though I know the photos appear somewhat off when using Mozilla Firefox. Do you have any other ideas as to what the problem might be? I'm not quite sure what to change since I don't see anything wrong on my computer.

Mike,
What operating platform are you running?

Re: Web page look
Guys, I run Windows XP and see a problem with both IE and Firefox. Vicky also runs XP and sees the same problem.
I tried the page at a lower resolution and had the same issue. I'll ask my System Administrator to have a look, maybe he'll suggest something.

Re: Web page look
Thanks Mike. Please let me know if you discover anything. I have Windows XP too. Internet Explorer works better than Firefox.
Re: Web page look
No definitive answer, but an interesting insight - changing the "text size" in Explorer doesn't actually change the text size on the page.
Which means that a fixed size font was used and it just happens to be too big for my resolution (and some others, I would assume).

Re: Web page look
Correction on my part... The Forum Area works great and looks better than the last incarnation but the Web Site portion is jumbled... Text and text/Graphics are overlapping each other making it difficult to impossible to read some parts...
I managed to download the latest Membership Application by repeatedly clicking on possible links hidden under other text...
I'm using Firefox 3.0.6

Re: Web page look
I did notice once that there was some overlapping when I saw the website through Firefox. I don't know why that is. It looks fine using Internet Explorer... the same as it looks on the program i use to design it. If anyone has any solutions or suggestions as to how to make it legible with different browsers, i'd appreicate it... I don't claim to be an expert in this stuff.
Re: Web page look
I took a look at the HTML for the site and noticed all of the pictures are placed in an exact location by pixels. If you adjust the numbers for the location and then view the page in each browser you should be able to get it to display right in both. I copied the whole page to my computer and was able to make the adjustment so it displayed correctly in firefox. The lines you need to change are right at the top of the file and look like this.
#pic12 { position:absolute; left:694px; top:53px; width:73px; height:22px; z-index:12; }
I changed the top setting by increasing the number to move the picture down. You need to search the file for the picture you want to move and find the tag that identifies the picture like this: <div id="pic51"> <a href="http://www.mazdausa.com/"><img src="Renegade%20Miata%20Club_files/mazdalogo.JPG"
Hope this helps.

Re: Web page look
Checked the site out from work... Different machine and screen but using Firefox again... Much better, however some images still overlap and cover text... This is a coding issue, probably something caused by the HTML editor your using... Which one is it?...

Re: Web page look
I use Internet Explorer and have the overlapping problem. I think it's scaling and it should be easily fixable in the editor, but I'm not HTML savvy.

Hallelujah, the page is fixed!
Thank you, guys and gals! It's so much easier to read when it's not all garbled. I appreciate it.
