Autocross School
howdy everyone,
i think i've finally made the jump into giving this a try.
i was curious about Autocross School day (april 14th) - is that a day that you have to show up for if you've never done this before?
the old miata's clutch has failed me and i'm not sure that i'll have it together by then.
I'm also taking suggestions for a replacement - if anyone has a favorite.
otherwise, i look forward to meeting you all.

You do not need to attend the school. There are instructors at every event. You can and should take an instructor with you as much as you want as long as there is one available. They will help you learn the course and tell you what you can do to get better.

Re: Autocross School
Hi, I am one of three that run the autox and if there is any way you can do the school I would highly recommend doing it. Unlike a normal event we will be running elements in the morning to hone your skill. Instructors can drive your car if you wish to see how it handles and give opinions. After a lunch break a full course will then be set up and you will get a chance to put the elements together that you tried earlier. Not a necessity to start this way but it is a little easier than being thrown into a sea of cones.

What does turnout look like for the autocross school? I'm a new member of BMWCCA and I'm considering also attending your autocross school on the 14th. What would be the procedures for pre-registering in that case? I read from the website, that pre-registration is $35 and would open up for me the week before the event. Thanks.

So far only about a dozen have signed up. Download the form and mail with a check. I am accepting pre registrations for all accepted clubs now.

Re: Autocross School
Hello,
Maybe I'm blind, but I can't find the form anywhere! Is it just because I'm not a club member? I'd like to join, but I don't see a link to a form on the events page or anything.
Thanks,
Alyssa

Click on the autocross button. There are links to the PDF and Word formats of the registration form in the middle of the page.
