Best tires for the stock class?
Hello, my name is Tom Burns and I bought a '03 Miata in May, joined the club and ran my first autocross in many years on 6/20. I had a great time, learned a lot from the instructors and will be doing it again. But I have a few questions. I'll start with just one. What's the best tire that keeps me in the stock class. The car has Yokohama S-Drive 205/50-16's on stock wheels. They seem fine on the road but not so good on an autoX course. I may not change over this year but maybe next spring, finances permitting.

S-drive is an OK tire for autocross. Not great, but will work in the beginning. Dunlop Direzza StarSpec seems to be _the_ AutoX tire today. Cheap and very sticky. Not a bad tire for the street either.
Welcome to the maddness. I might have been one of the guys instructing you. If so, my apologies in advance
